Australian Open 2015

The first tennis grand slam is now complete, this great tournament started on January 19th to February 1 2015,played once again at Melbourne Park in Melbourne, Australia which now has 3 courts with retractable roofs, so there is no time for delay in play in Australia.

The top 32 are seeded in groups of 4 so 1-4 are divided into separate quarters and can't play each other until a semi additionally 1 can't play 2 until the finals , but there are some clashes on the way through.

MENS SINGLES

Defending Men's singles champion Stanislas Wawrinka opens the defence of his sole Grand Slam title to date against Turkey’s Marsel Ilhan and has a favourable draw.

Roger Federer coming off a win in Brisbane is on the same side of the draw as Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal, and could meet the Scot in the quarterfinals and the Spaniard in the semis.

 Four-time AO champion Novak Djokovic begins against a qualifier, as does men’s sixth seed and three-time Australian Open runner-up Murray. Djokovic could meet big-hitting Spaniard Fernando Verdasco in the third round.

WOMENS SINGLES

2015 Women's Single Champion

Serena Williams wins her sixth Australian Open singles crown, beating Maria Sharapova for her 19th Grand Slam title with a 6-3 7-6(5) victory .
The road to her sixth Australian Open singles title for Serena Williams wasn't easy, with the American top seed on track to face Vera Zvonareva in the second round, Ukraine’s 26th seed Elina Svitolina in the third round, and either Jelena Jankovic or Garbine Muguruza in the fourth round.

Australian Open 2008 champion and second seed Maria Sharapova  and this years finalist faced a qualifier in the first round and is on course for a quarterfinal with last year’s breakout star Eugenie Bouchar.

MENS DOUBLES

2015 Men's Double Champions

Unseeded Italian pairing Fabio Fognini and Simone Bolelli have capped an impressive fortnight to claim their first Grand Slam doubles title, dismissing French duo Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut in straight sets in the Australian Open men’s doubles final .
